Vegetable Daliya

Makes three servings Ingredients: 1/4 cup daliya (broken wheat) 1 and 1/2 cups water 1/2 onion, chopped 1/2 tomato, chopped 1/4 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, beans), chopped 1 tsp ginger green chilli paste 1 tsp mustard seeds 1 tsp cumin seeds 1 tsp oil Salt to taste Coriander leaves, chopped for garnish

Daliya

Preparation

1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.

2. Add onion, ginger, and garlic, and sauté for 1-2 minutes until the onion becomes translucent.

3. Add the mixed vegetables, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.

4. Add the daliya and stir it well. Roast the daliya and vegetables for 2-3 minutes.

5. Add water, mix well and bring it to a boil.

6. Cover the pan with a lid and let it simmer for 10-12 minutes, or until the daliya and vegetables are cooked and the water is absorbed.

7. Turn off the heat and let it sit for 2-3 minutes.

8. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
