Chana Dal Chilla

Makes two chila Ingredients: 1/4 cup chana dal (split Bengal gram) 1 small onion, finely chopped 1 small tomato, finely chopped 1 green chili, finely chopped (optional) Salt to taste Oil or ghee for cooking Chopped coriander leaves for garnishing

Ingredients for this Recipe

Chana dal

100 gm

Small onion, chopped

2 tbsp

Small tomato, chopped

2 tbsp

Green chillies, chopped

1 tsp

Salt to taste

1 tsp

Coriander leaves

1 tbsp

Preparation

1. Rinse chana dal in water and soak it for 2-3 hours.

2. Drain the water and grind the chana dal to a smooth paste. Add water if needed.

3. Add chopped onion, tomato, green chili, and salt to the dal paste. Mix well.

4. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat. Spread a few drops of oil or ghee on the pan.

5. Pour a ladleful of the chana dal mixture on the pan and spread it evenly to form a circle.

6. Cook for 2-3 minutes on low heat or until the chila turns golden brown.

7. Flip the chila and cook for another 2-3 minutes.

8. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with green chutney.
