Cabbage Poriyal

Makes one serving Ingredients: 1 cup chopped cabbage 1 small onion, chopped 1 small tomato, chopped 1 green chili, chopped 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds 1/2 teaspoon urad dal (split black gram) 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder Salt to taste 1 tablespoon oil 1 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves for garnishing

Ingredients for this Recipe

Grated cabbage

1 cup

Small onion, chopped

1 no

Small tomato, chopped

Green chilli, chopped

Urad dal

Salt to taste

Preparation

1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.

2. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.

3. Add urad dal and cumin seeds. Saute for a few seconds until the dal turns golden brown.

4. Add chopped onion, green chili, and turmeric powder. Saute until the onion becomes translucent.

5. Add chopped tomato and cook until it becomes soft.

6. Add chopped cabbage and salt. Mix well.

7. Cover the pan and cook for 5-7 minutes on low heat or until the cabbage is soft and cooked.

8. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with rice and any other side dish of your choice.
