Preparation

1. Rinse the cumin seeds (jeera) in water.

2. In a small pan, dry roast the cumin seeds over medium heat for 2-3 minutes until they turn slightly darker and release their aroma.

3. Add the water to the pan and bring it to a boil.

4. Once the water comes to a boil, reduce the heat and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes.

5. Turn off the heat and let the jeera water cool down for a few minutes.

6. Strain the jeera water into a cup using a strainer.

7. Serve the jeera water warm or at room temperature.
