Abhishek Jindal: The Role of Fitness Challenges in Fitness Journeys
Starting out with your fitness journeys is not just about your physical transformation. It can also get challenging, mentally and emotionally. For those of us who might feel this way, Abhishek Jindal, a body transformation coach, is here to tell us that it is okay and that it gets better. To achieve this, one of Abhishek’s goals for 2022 is to train 1000+ people and transform their lives.
Having gone through phases of fatigue and sleepless nights at the beginning of his own fitness journey, Abhishek’s program ‘Busy To Fit’ aims to help people overcome that. It is designed for busy professionals to work out from the comfort of their homes, without feeling miserable and hopeless in the process.
After having struggled with bad immunity, a disproportionate body, and the pleasures of indulging in fast food, Abhishek started his fitness journey during his college days. And then, there was no looking back for him. He drew motivation from how rewarding the transformation personally made him feel and not from what people around him said.
There were highs and lows and times when results weren’t coming through for him but after investing a lot of time in learning Metabolic training, HIIT, and other disciplines, he managed to completely transform himself in the next 4-5 years.
He is a coach who has participated in both of SocialBoat’s challenges and given below are his observations-
1. For people who have started out their fitness journeys recently, the key for them is to stay motivated. And fitness challenges have been doing great for them in that regard. They get motivated by the kind of rewards that fitness challenges throw in for them. Plus the push comes from the community because everyone around you is working out.
2. Abhishek’s programs focus mostly on busy professionals who are busy with their jobs throughout the day and hardly get any time for working out. He says that the majority of the people that he sees in the fitness challenges are from this pool. To explain this, he says,
“For instance, there is a professional who likes to run, and they might be missing out on the running days because of time. In such a scenario, if you throw in a challenge like “New Year Resolution Run,” seeing that there is a set target and a reward that they will win, they will take that little extra step and go out for a run.”
3. Sharing his experience of both the challenges that he was a part of, Abhishek says that this time he is more sure of what he should do for better community engagement.
Firstly, make his community members aware of the fact that within the whole month-long challenge, there are several mini-challenges that promise rewards.
And secondly, telling them about all these rewards.
Abhishek has found that communication with the community is essential for maximum benefits for all the members.
4. Abhishek has also experienced that giving people mini rewards and complimenting their fitness journeys, makes them feel that they are contributing to the community in some way. Hence, adding a personal touch to their fitness journeys pushes them to do better consistently.
In the coming year, in addition to his goal of training 1000+ people, Abhishek intends to create meaningful digital content including easy-to-follow fun workout videos, blogs, fitness & nutrition-related tips, and much more. In addition, he wants to learn more and improve as a trainer himself.
