Just as we learn the news of Nikhat Zareen winning a gold medal for India in the World Boxing Championship, following the footsteps of Mary Kom, Sanitary Devi, etc., we are once again reminded of the immense potential that women have to achieve anything and everything.
To celebrate this potential, in today’s blog we talk about some of the women from the SocialBoat game who have done phenomenally in the game and outside. They have contributed and continue to contribute to the field of fitness, health, and sports. Read on to know about them-
1. Anushansha Shukla
From the day Anushansha joined the game, she has raised the level of the game higher and higher. She is a full-time working professional at a US-based healthcare company, and an aspiring fitness trainer but still makes it a point to never miss her daily workout. Anushansha’s journey towards fitness itself is very interesting. During the lockdown, she also made her own home gym for which she bought and won equipment gradually until it was all ready. You can read about her story here.
“I just want to enjoy everything I do and I am aware that fitness plays a very important role in the enjoyment.”
Anushansha has been consistently topping the leaderboard every month. For now, Anushansha has a whopping total of 2,202 fit points and they are increasing every day. She is at the highest level of the game- level 5, Olympian.
2. Aditi Ghai
Aditi Ghai is a cyclist, runner, and weightlifter based in Faridabad. She is the fastest long-distance cyclist in Faridabad and is a part of the Faridabad Cycling Club. She had always been a runner ever since school but started cycling a couple of years ago. A quick learner and a strict follower of discipline, she learned all the nuances of cycling quickly and established herself among the best. Her motivation is that she loves to be fit and to work out.
“Working out is as essential to me as food and water. On days that I don’t work out, I feel very incomplete.”
Aditi joined the game recently and she is already at level 5, the Olympian, with 632 fit points.
3. Shalini Soni
Shalini Soni is the prime example of how dedication in the face of challenges can lead to the accomplishment of goals. Shalini discovered her passion for fitness some years ago and joined the gym. After a couple of years of being a regular there, she had to leave the gym due to objections from her family. But there was no way she was giving up on working out. She started training at home and got better by the day. Earlier she worked out without equipment but by participating in fitness challenges online, she accommodated some equipment at her home.
"I feel very happy with what I am doing every day and I push myself to do better."
Currently, Shalini is participating and acing online fitness challenges and also training a few people simultaneously. In the game, she is at the highest level 5 of Olympian and has 1404 fit points.
4. Sunder Bishnoi
Sunder Bishnoi is the co-founder of ‘Khushi Se Yoga,’ a start-up that is spreading the knowledge of yoga far and wide. They take yoga sessions for corporates where stress-relieving is extremely important. Some of their most important programs include weekend laughter yoga for senior citizens. As a part of the game, Suder has contributed valuably to the game. The highlight was her picture of doing a camel pose in the middle of the camels in the desert of Jodhpur. She is currently at level 3 (Local Athlete) with a total of 372 fit points.
"50% of the problems today are caused due to stress and yoga relieves stress. Everyone should incorporate it into their lives.”
5. Sasmita Pani
Sasmita Pani is one of the oldest and top-performing participants in the SocialBoat game. A 49-year-old marathon runner, she has delivered consistent results and has been at the top of the leaderboard many times. Samita started long-distance running a few years ago and has only improved herself since. Today, running is such an essential part of her life that she hardly goes one day without completing her daily run. In a conversation with SocialBoat, she said that being a part of the game has pushed her to do better consistently.
"Running gives me peace. It has helped me get through the worst times in my life. So once the peace is there, motivation comes automatically. I enjoy myself when my body gets tired."
Currently, at the ‘Aspirant’ level 2 in the game, she has earned a total of 395 fit points.
In addition to these, there are several other women in the game who have impressed all with their excellent performances. Imiti Jamir, Garima, Nyasha Kaushik, Aanchal, Surabhi Chauhan, Dr Susan Roy, and to name a few.
